How does a hybrid vehicle?

Hybrid cars use an electric motor and internal combustion. Depending on the type of use for which they are designed, hybrid cars may be in series or in parallel.
In the former, the internal combustion engine drives a generator that supplies electricity to an electric motor, it is connected to the wheels; that is, the vehicle finally moves with the power supplied by the electric motor, which uses electricity produced by the generator driven by the internal combustion engine.
The advantage of this type of car is that if benefits or autonomy are needed, the electric motor can receive both battery power and generator.
In parallel hybrid cars, both the electric motor and the gas they are connected to the vehicle wheels. They are more complex, but also more effective in order to reduce consumption and emissions without compromising performance. In city traffic, where it does not take much power and seeking a level of zero emissions, the vehicle runs on the electric motor, which takes the current batteries installed in the car.
