Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Assistance Program

The purpose of the Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Assistance Program (TFTLRAP) is to recruit and retain certified classroom teachers in fields and communities that have a shortage of teachers in Texas.

Funding 

The 83rd Texas Legislature appropriated $2,212,500 for each year of the current two-year state budget period. Based on past experience and the high level of interest in this program, we anticipate that available funding will not be sufficient for awards to all eligible applicants. To leverage the limited funding in the most effective manner, the maximum award amount will be $2,500.

Online Application for 2014-2015 School Year 

On May 19, 2015 a new application process was implemented to enable teachers to submit their applications online via a secure web portal. Upon submission of the teacher’s application, a message will be sent to the e-mail address of the school principal or other official who is authorized to verify employment information, as entered by the teacher on the application form. The message will prompt the official to complete and submit an attached form to the Coordinating Board via the secure web portal. All applications must be submitted online.

The application deadline for teachers is Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 5:00 PM CST. The link for submitting the application will not be available after that time. The deadline forprincipals or other authorized officials to submit the employment verification portion of the application has been extended to Friday, August 15, 2015 at 5:00 PM CST.
